Skara Brae è un insediamento neolitico realizzato in pietra situato nella Baia di Skaill, sulla costa occidentale di Mainland, Orkney, Scozia.

Risalente al 3180 a.C., Skara Brae è più antica di Stonehenge e delle Grandi Piramidi.

Skara Brae ci offre uno spaccato della cultura e della vita delle persone che vi abitavano oltre cinque millenni fa, parte del popolo della ceramica scanalata.

Skara Brae fa parte di un sito patrimonio mondiale dell'UNESCO incluso nel sito 'Il cuore dell'Orkney neolitica'.

A differenza della maggior parte dei siti risalenti a quell'epoca, le case di Skara Brae sono notevolmente ben conservate.
