Thirlestaine House, Villa neoclassica a Cheltenham, Inghilterra
La Casa Thirlestaine presenta un portico centrale con quattro colonne ioniche scanalate e due ali distinte decorate con pannelli in rilievo del Partenone.
La costruzione iniziò nel 1820 sotto la direzione dell'architetto James Robert Scott, con Lord Northwick che acquisì la proprietà nel 1838 per esporre la sua collezione.
L'edificio ospitava una vasta collezione di dipinti, monete, vasi greci, stampe, gemme, miniature e porcellane, aperta al pubblico tutto l'anno.
Situata alle coordinate 51.8906, -2.077, l'edificio classificato Grado I funziona attualmente come parte del complesso educativo Cheltenham College.
La vendita d'arte del 1859 durò 22 giorni, attirando acquirenti di rilievo come Sir Charles Eastlake che acquisì capolavori di Gerard David e Raffaello.
